As the second stage crushing equipment in the whole production line, what are the differences between cone crusher and impact crusher? The working principle of cone crusher is laminated crushing. The rolling wall continuously moves toward the broken wall, and the material between the two is squeezed to be pulverized. The working principle of impact crusher is that after the material reaches the top of the vortex breaking chamber, the toothed counter-attack plate rebounds and falls freely, and constantly with the subsequent upward impacting materials hits and crushes.
In actual production, both of them have many differences, as follows:
1. Different hardness of the crushed materials
Impact crusher and cone crusher can both act as secondary crushing devices, but the hardness of the two broken materials is not the same. Cone crusher mainly crushes some big hardness materials, such as granite, basalt, tuff, river pebbles and so on; while impact crusher is used to crush the materials with small hardness, such as limestone, limerock, etc.
2. Different discharge sizes and applied materials
After the materials being crushed, the discharge size of the two crusher is not the same. Generally, the discharge granularity of cone crusher is finer than that of impact crusher. In the actual production, cone crusher is used more in ore processing, and impact crusher is used more in building materials and construction industries.
3. Different grain shapes of finished products
The grain size of impact crusher is better, and the finished products has less edges and corners, more powder. There are many needle-like pieces in the finished products of cone crusher, and granule shape is not good.
4. Different processing capacity
Compared to impact crusher, cone crusher has the features of low energy consumption, big capacity, stable production, and so on. Therefore, cone crusher is often used in large-scale and high-yield production line.
5. Different investment cost
The price of cone crusher is higher than that of impact crusher, but the wearing parts has long lifespan, which avoids the trouble of constantly replacing components. In the long run, the cost performance of cone crusher is higher than the impact crusher. It can be understood that the pre-purchase cost of the impact crusher is low, and the post-maintenance cost is high; the pre-cost of the cone crusher is high, and the later input cost is low.
6. Different pollution degree
The noise dust pollution of impact crusher is big, while, cone crusher is relatively small. To sum up, impact crusher and cone crusher have their own advantages and disadvantages. In actual production, which kind of equipment should be selected needs to be chosen according to different materials, feeding sizes, discharge size, output and other aspects. Here, impact crusher is recommended, if there is a small-scale stone production line. If there is a big-scale production line and the raw material is hard, cone crusher is recommended. If you are strict with particle size, a shaping machine can be added.
